Dubai: The American University in Dubai's governing board has approved a Dh17 million budget for scholarships at their annual meeting.

This is on top of expanding libraries, adding more dormitories and a tower to house the Mohammad Bin Rashid School for Communication, to be completed in 2015.

"The AUD governing board and community remain convinced that since the opening of the university in 1995, it has made great strides towards developing a culture of excellence," said governing board chairman Dr Stephen Franklin.
