Dubai: Cares to organize ‘Water Bucket Walk' to provide children in developing countries with clean water

Dubai Dubai Cares, the philanthropic establishment launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is organising a ‘Water Bucket Walk' at Jumeirah Beach Park in support of children with limited access to clean drinking water in schools around the world.

The event will be held on November 20, to coincide with the twentieth anniversary of the United Nations' Universal Children's Day which is observed as a day to promote children's welfare.

The three-kilometre Water Bucket Walk along Jumeirah Beach Road will help Dubai Cares address one of the key issues preventing access to primary education in developing countries.

Tarek Al Gurg, CEO of Dubai Cares, said: "The purpose behind this event is to provide the UAE community with an opportunity to briefly experience a fraction of the difficulties that children in developing countries face every day in accessing and collecting water. Every participant walking represents one child's access to clean water for one year and hence we encourage and invite all UAE residents to participate in large numbers."

UAE residents can register for the event through the Dubai Cares website (www.dubaicares.ae).
