Three arrested for iris scan forgery in Dubai
Dubai: A three-member gang comprising a teenager, a man and a woman was arrested at Dubai airport for using forged iris scan stamps and signatures.
A 17-year-old Russian identified as F.S. was arrested at the airport with 72 forged iris scan stamps and signatures in his possession.
Immigration officials in cooperation with police at the airport arrested F.S. and his two partners, K.A., 34 from Russia and A.M. 21, from Moldova.
Helping banned people
Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, Director General of Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD), said the accused were arrested while trying to use forged iris scan stamps to help people who had previously been banned from entering the country.
