Four held for theft of electronic goods
Dubai: Police arrested four Indian men who robbed the company they worked for by stealing electronic devices from its warehouses in Jebel Ali.
On October 19 the Dubai Police Operations Room received a report of a robbery at a company warehouse in Jebel Ali by unknown people who were able to open the warehouse door and steal 12 large plasma TVs and flee.
Police went to the scene and drew up a plan to arrest the suspects and recover the stolen items.
During investigations, the teams suspected that the culprits could be employees of the company and started monitoring the movements of the staff.
After intensive monitoring, police arrested one of the Indian suspects on October 21. He confessed that he committed the crime with his compatriots who also worked for the company.
Police found the stolen plasma TVs in the accommodations of the suspects in Jebel Ali in addition to a large number of electronic devices which the suspects hid under their beds.
Police also found other plasma TVs and electronic devices with another six suspects.
The four main suspects had left the items with the other six suspects. The total number of devices recovered was 106 which the company's supervisors identified.
The supervisors told police that they did not know that such a large amount of electronic devices was stolen from their warehouses.
The suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution with the seized items.
