Family commits collective suicide in Dubai

Dubai: An Indian family committed suicide at 8pm on Wednesday.

The mother, 38, her son from a previous marriage, 22, her sister, 20, died after hanging themselves from the fan in their flat in Karama.

The husband, 40, called the police claiming he attempted to commit suicide but his rope came loose.

He is being detained for investigation, said Brigadier Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri. 

Police said they are still investigating the case while refusing to comment on the motive behind the collective suicide.
