Charity to distribute meat to 15,000 needy families

Abu Dhabi: The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will commence slaughtering of sacrificial animals on the first day of Eid Al Adha to distribute meat to 15,000 families nationwide on the second day of Eid.

Mohammad Habroosh Al Rumaithi, deputy secretary general for local affairs at the RCA, said: "RCA has outlined rules to carry out the sacrificial animals' project to meet the requirements of the needy families during Eid Al Adha days."

He added that RCA has set a strategy to increase a number of beneficiaries inside the country, indicating that 6,000 families in Abu Dhabi, Baniyas, Al Shah-ama, Mussafah, Al Wathba, Al Nahda, Al Rahba, Al Samha and Western region will benefit from the project. Al Rumaithi said 4,200 families in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and Umm Al Quwain, 1,000 families in Al Ain and suburbs, 1,600 families in Ras Al Khaimah, and 1,600 families in Fujairah will also benefit from the project.
