Bakeries and restaurant in Ras Al Khaimah fined

Ras Al Khaimah: A bakery here was fined Dh1,000 after a customer found an insect in a loaf of bread.

A senior municipal official said the Emirati woman immediately reported the case to the municipality. The bakery owner had to sign a pledge not to repeat the violation.

Another bakery was ordered to pay Dh1,000 after municipal inspectors found it was storing rotten bread. The owner confessed to storing old bread.

Municipal inspectors also ordered a restaurant to pay a Dh2,000 fine for re-using oil.
