The family, including Sara, 9, Hessah, 6, Abdullah, 8, and Faisal, 3, and wife Hala were delighted with pleasant surprise.
The family is on its third visit to Dubai and this time they have come Dubai especially on the insistence of the children.
Abdul Rahman said, "Dubai is full of surprises and we are so glad to be here. We came here for the children and will be staying here for a week. The children love the Modhesh Fun City and its events - Sara loves Fulla, Hessah likes the Barbie and the boys like the Lets and Go Zone.
"It goes without saying that all of them completely adore Modhesh."
The traditional welcome reserved for the first families of each theme week was given by members of the Knowledge Surprises Committee from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
They included Majid Abdullah Majid, Ahmad Bilal, Omran Abdul Rahman, Sumaya Al Shamsi, Ibtisam Makki, Hani Mirza, Zeina Habib and Fatima Al Qabisi, and Maitha Gobash, Administration Co-ordinator from the DSS Office, representatives from sponsors Grand Hyatt and Paris Gallery.
Majid Abdullah Majid, supervisor of Special Events at DCCI, said, "We always like to give a great reception to the First Family, as it is is always nice to present someone else with a gift and see their happiness. It's a great opportunity to let them enjoy the wonderful summer in Dubai."
The gifts and other giveaways valued at more than Dh10,000 are sponsored by Dubai Summer Surprises, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Grand Hyatt, Paris Gallery and Al Wud Al Zuhoor. Grand Hyatt is also sponsoring a three night free stay for the family.
