Al Dhafra, the new comer to the First division football league caused a big upset in the President's Cup pre-quarterfinals when they outclassed Al Ittihad of the First division with a Golden Goal in the last minute of extra time to emerge winners 2-1 at Maktoum bin Rashid stadium yesterday and qualify to the quarters to meet Al Ain on Monday.

The two teams were tied 1-1 at the end of normal time, the draw continued in extra time until the 119th minute when Hamad Yousuf scored the Golden Goal for Dhafra from the spot following a harsh tackle by Saber Ali of Ittihad on Khalil Mattar, Hamad made no mistake by converting the spot kick.

Both the teams attacked without real threat to the goalkeepers. Adel Mohammed of Ittihad fired a left footer hit the post in 20 minute. Juma Darwish scored Dhafra first goal in 31 minute following a fine cross by Musstafa Mosstawda.

Ittihad pressed hard in the second session with Hasan Saeed who came in in 66 minute added more power for Ittihad front line, Zolo of Ittihad was unlucky when his powerful shot hit the post in 74 minute.

After two minutes Hasan Saeed leveled for Ittihad from the spot through a penalty kick, Haroon Hasan the Dhafra keeper blocked it in the first attempt but Hasan Saeed made the follow up and scored from the rebound.

The match went into extra time after the two teams failed to score the winner in normal time. While the match was on it's way to a penalty shoot out, Hamad Yousuf scored the winner in the last minute from the spot.

In the second match held at Al Shaab stadium, George Weah saved the day for Jazira when he scored a last gasp equaliser to force Dubai club to play an extra time after they were leading 4-3. Jazira went on to win in a penalty shoot out 5-4 despite the score stayed unchanged 4-4 in the 30 minutes of extra time.

Hussain Suhail put Jazira in the front when he scored in 17 minute. After ten minutes Saeed Anan leveled for Dubai, the same player scored the second in 32 minutes.

Kaboka made it 3-1 for Dubai four minutes after resumption and the Dubai club who was promoted to the First division next season was on their way to create a surprise, however Tareq Oqab reduced the deficit by hitting the second for Jazira in 51 minute, Hussain Suhail leveled in 74th minute to make it 3-3.

Saeed Anan completed his hat trick for Dubai by scoring the fourth in the second minute of injury time. The Dubai defence couldn't keep their team's narrow win in the last seconds with George Weah scoring the equaliser in the last gasp of the match.

The two teams were exhausted due to humidity and high temperature without any of them could score the winner in the extra time.

In the penalty shoot out, George Weah, Hussain Suhail, Khalaf Salim, Tareq Oqab, and Mohammed Salim scored for Jazira, while Kaboka, Tareq Abdullah, Saeed Anan, and Abdullah Zayed scored for Dubai, and Yousuf Ahmed lost the most important kick for Dubai which announced the win for Jazira who will meet Al Shaab in the quarterfinals next Monday.
