Shaikh Niyaz thought he was in "gaga-land" when he first walked into a co-educational school in India. From the relatively huge crowd, a beautiful face caught his attention.
Attending the same classes, Niyaz and Shameema K. P. always had feelings for each other, but never admitted to it. Instead, they set each other up with different people. However, that did not last for long.
After graduating from high school, they went their separate ways to attend university. However, distance did not break their connection, as they stayed in touch by calling each other. This lead to Niyaz getting kicked out of his house when the telephone bill arrived.
The time then came for Niyaz and Shameema to finally accept their feelings for each other. Their parents, however, were not too accommodating about the idea, as Shameema's parents had already found a husband for their daughter.
This put Niyaz through a period of depression, wherein he could neither eat nor sleep. Finally, he decided that it was time to let go.
However, just when nothing seemed to be going right, Niyaz's mother decided to meet Shameema's parents and somehow convinced them to accept the marriage proposal.
In order to marry Shameema, Niyaz had to prove to her parents that he could support their daughter, by getting a job. This brought him to Dubai.
After all this time, Niyaz and Shameema were finally married on the first day of 2009.
