Abu Dhabi: Fires broke out in two different localities in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday but no fatalities were reported, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence said.

One caravan, which was used to store discarded cables and wood, caught fire in the Marina Mall area of Abu Dhabi, while the other fire occurred in a storage yard for electrical and furniture scrap near China market in Al Mafraq Industrial Area on the outskirts of the city.

The first incident occurred at 11.35am and the other at 12.25pm. The Civil Defence teams were sent to the scenes immediately and they brought the fires under control.

Brigadier-General Mohammad Mayouf Al Katbi, director-general of Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, reiterated the importance of complying with the requirements of fire prevention and safety by persons concerned.

Investigation is are ongoing to determine the circumstances and causes of the two fires.
