Emirates Computers eyes Dh3b revenues

Abu Dhabi: Despite the global economic downturn, the UAE-based technology company Emirates Computers is eyeing revenues of Dh3 billion in 2009, higher than the Dh2.8 billion turnover it achieved last year, the company's vice-president and general manager told Gulf News.

"This was the target we set before the crisis began&we will struggle hard this year, but our new solution centre will give a boost to our sales," said Haytham Kamel.

He said Emirates Computers has more than 6,000 clients in the UAE and this includes the Ministry of Interior, Police, Civil Aviation, Airports, Municipalities, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), banks and financial institutions and oil and natural gas companies.

Last week, Emirates Computers unveiled a state-of-the-art EMC Velocity2 Signature Solution Centre in Abu Dhabi that will focus on information infrastructure and virtualisation technologies for Microsoft exchange environments.

The new solution centre was built in partnership with EMC - the world leader in information infrastructure solutions and is designed to demonstrate the benefits and value of EMC solutions for Microsoft Exchange environments, combined with Emirates Computers' solution and service offerings, as well as the testing of proof of concepts that match customers' IT environments.
