Dubai: A Dubai based start-up has created the first bilingual (Arabic and English) do-it-yourself cloud-based mobile app maker in the world — Mobibus — with an aim to cut costs, time and technological complexity.
“No coding is required as we have pre-defined design templates and it takes just four steps to create a customised mobile app,” said Mohammad Johmani, founder and CEO of Mobile Technology Co.
Users can preview the app in real time as they build after downloading it from the app store. The in-built modules relate to news, locations, links, events, mailing list, offers, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, catalogue, radio and video streaming and QR codes. The app maker supports 16 languages for the Android and Apple iOS platforms.
Users get a free 15-day trial period after which they can pay and publish it on the app store. It costs $125 (Dh459) a month on an annual basis or $150 a month on a quarterly basis.
Design changes
“We have taken two years to develop the app and have clients like Majid Al Futtaim, Aldar Properties, Dubai Word Trade Centre, etc,” Johmani said. “We have 10 clients so far and expect to have 1,000 subscribers by end of the next year.”
To make any design changes, the user can log on to the website, do the necessary changes and save time. “We are also planning to launch a ‘Reseller’ application where we rebrand our app maker for companies in other parts of the world and they can sell it to their customers,” said Johmani. “But we share 40 per cent of the profit they generate and they must generate a certain amount per year.”
