Win 71 points and stand third in overall standings
Dubai: Team GAC Pindar sailed to victory last weekend when they clinched the Stena Match Cup Sweden in the fifth stage of the prestigious World Match Racing Tour.
This was the second successive World Match Racing Tour win for skipper Ian Williams and his crew less than two weeks after winning the Portugal event.
Two-time ISAF World Match Racing Champion Williams edged arch-rival Bjorn Hansen of Mekonomen Sailing Team in the final to become the first skipper this year to triumph at two consecutive stages of the World Match Racing Tour. The win secured Team GAC Pindar 71 points and third place in the overall World Match Racing Tour standings.
"It's been an amazing last two weeks, following up the victory in Portugal with another thrilling win here," Williams said.
"This is turning out to be an incredibly competitive season, and we would need to continue in top form and constantly improve our game if we are to find ourselves atop the leaderboard."
