Dubai: Dubai based Chiara Noja (Germany) shot a first round one-over par 74 in the Hauts de France – Pas de Calais Golf Open in the north of France, at the Saint-Omer Golf Club on the Ladies European Tour Access Series (LETAS).

In this eighth event of the LETAS season, the Alps Tour and LETAS join forces to co-sanction an event for men and women from both Tours.

Chiara, the dominant leader of both the LETAS Order of Merit and the LETAS Rookie of the Year Table, started slowly with three bogeys in her first five holes but recovered to make the turn in 38. A strong back nine of 36 saw Chiara finish in tied 13th over the 5,782 yards par 73 course. The leaders are on four under 69 after round one.

She has openly admitted she is still wary of her recent rib injury and is still treading carefully, preventing her from practising as much as her usual tournament preparation and routine schedule.

The women will compete among themselves for their own trophy, a prize pool of €40,000 and LETAS Order of Merit points. 64 LETAS players are in the field. After the completion of 36 holes, 35 ladies and 35 men plus all ties will make the cut to play in Saturday’s final round in France.
