Thornberry waiting to play at Orange Bowl
Dubai: Sean Thornberry will rub shoulders with some top players at the famed Orange Bowl Junior International Golf Championship at the Biltmore Hotel Golf Course in Florida being held on December 27 -30.
The prodigy has made it to the prestigious championship following his impressive run of success in the Emirates Golf Federation Junior Order of Merit, formerly known as the UGA Junior Order of Merit.
Sean tallied 137.8 points in six events to win the Junior Order of Merit title last season, well ahead of his club mates Eric Hesson (105.3 points), Bradley Able (100) and Dubai Creek's Biren Dey (80).
"I couldn't have asked for a better reward after winning the Order of Merit title," said a smiling Sean. "It will be fun to play with the world's best junior players. I am really looking forward to the challenge ahead," said Sean, who plays off an impressive two handicap.
The championship is an integral part of the Junior Orange Bowl International Youth Festival, which comprises of over 20 events.
