Last updated:

Dubai: Arabian Ranches Golf Club has received over 45 tournament entries for the Ramadan Golf Challenge tomorrow.

The 18 hole individual strokeplay tournament with a 1.30 pm shotgun start will be played from the 6807 yards, par 72 Blue Tee fixed course.

The event has TNT as a support sponsor and is open to all men amateur golfers holding a valid handicap with a maximum handicap limit of 18 - the event has been deemed a qualifier for handicap purposes. Elliott Gray, Golf Operations Manager, commented "We have received a good handicap mix of entries, half of the entries coming from single figure handicap players and the other half from players in the teens. We will crown two Champions of equal status in the Gross and Nett Divisions of this event which is in it's fifth year."

- Entries are now being accepted online at www.arabianranchesgolfdubai.com.

Top two to join tamori

The top two finishers of the TNT Amateur Order of Merit Golf Series join Katsuyoshi Tamori today in the Pro-Am on the eve of the Travel Perkins Plc Seniors Masters over the Dukes Course at Woburn, England.

Mark Clifton (UGA) & Francisco Giles (DCGYC) 1st and 2nd respectively in the Series are joined along with TNT Grand Final Winner Tony Dougherty (ARGC) and Tamori in the afternoon shotgun.

Tamori has won seven times on the Japanese Tour, represented Japan twice in the World Cup and Alfred Dunhill Cup and two years ago clinched the Scandinavian Senior Masters. Elliott Gray commented "Tony, Francisco and Mark left Dubai a few days ago with Martyn Wright of TNT; it will be a great experience playing in the Pro-Am with such a seasoned veteran as Tamori."
