Garcia in Abu Dhabi Golf Championship

Abu Dhabi: Two of the world's top five golfers, triple Major winner Padraig Harrington and the in-form Sergio Garcia who is the world's current number three, have confirmed their participation in the US $2 million Abu Dhabi Golf Championship to be held here between January 15-18, 2009.
With the 2008 champion Martyn Kaymer having confirmed he will defend his maiden Tour victory here, a star-studded field is expected for the fourth edition of this event which also kicks off the ‘Gulf Swing' as it will be followed by the Qatar Open and the Dubai Desert Classic.

Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), organisers of the event, said in the message that the event will strengthen the emirate's credentials as a tourism destination of distinction.
