It's a new season for golf, and I thought I will share my views on some of the most common questions I have been asked by media and fans in the last few days.
The biggest question on everyone's mind right now is the return of Tiger Woods and whether he would be the same force he was before the surgery.
I personally think Tiger will be back with a bang, and I won't be surprised if he is even better than the time he left. That's the nature of the man. Nothing is impossible for him, and he proved it with his win at the US Open where he was literally playing on one leg.
Even thought Tiger himself has not given any timeline for his return, I am guessing he should be back by the time of the Masters in early April.
And he would definitely like to test his fitness and skills in a competition before that. So, my guess is he would make his comeback either at the WGC-CA Championship, or Arnold Palmer Invitational, which is two weeks before the Masters.
The second most popular question seems to be the effect of The Race to Dubai on the European Tour.
Of course, if The Race to Dubai is an attractive rainbow, there is also the pot of gold at the end of it. The $10 million bonus pool and the $10 million Dubai World Championship is going to be a huge incentive for players to elevate their standards with the objective of qualifying for both.
Finally, I am often asked if I think I can win a Major.
Yes. I think I can. My confidence is high after the success I had in 2008, and my game is in good shape. All I have to do is take care of my fitness, and I see no reason why I should not be able to compete for a podium finish in the Majors this year.
