Inderjit Singh Bindra, the International Cricket Council's (ICC) special adviser, invited the team to train in India while he visited China along with ICC president Haroon Lorgat.

"The team will train in Chandigarh and play matches for nearly three weeks," said Bindra, who is also the president of the Punjab Cricket Association.

"The team will also train at the Punjab Cricket Academy. They will be in India till November 4," said Bindra, who has also made arrangement for the team to witness the one-day match between India and Australia on November 2 at Chandigarh.

The ICC sees China as a key country for the growth of the game around the world. Their delegates have been frequently visiting China to provide all assistance to the Chinese Cricket Association.

Rashid Khan, a former Pakistan allrounder, who has been coaching the Chinese team, feels that cricket at the grass roots level is progressing very well.

Chinese women's cricket team reached the semifinal of the 2007 Asian Cricket Council women's tournament by beating UAE by seven wickets.

The team will take part in the Asian Games to be held in Guangzhou in November 2010. Being the hosts they have automatically qualified for the Twenty20 event in the Asian Games along with the Asian Test playing nations.

What has impressed everyone is the physical fitness and agility of the Chinese women and men. "If they can master the skills of the game, the will be able to challenge the best teams in the world," said Khan.
