Al Nasr eye President's Cup final berth

Dubai: Al Nasr will be looking to reach the President's Cup volleyball final when they take on Al Shabab in the semifinals at Saeed Bin Maktoum indoor hall at 5pm tomorrow.

In the second semifinals, to be played at the same time, league champions Al Ain host Al Wasl in a last-gasp attempt to clinch a title.

Al Nasr, winners of the Shaikh Zayed Cup last month, will be eager to add the President's Cup to their kitty.

Al Nasr have been dominating the domestic volleyball circuit in recent years. However, they failed to win the FA Cup, which was won by Al Ahli, and also the league title this year.

Al Shabab will also be looking to win a trophy before the season ends. Al Shabab, runners-up in the league and Shaikh Zayed Cup, are eager to clinch the President's Cup, but they face tough opponents in the semifinals.

Most of the volleyball experts had claimed that if Al Shabab beat Al Nasr and reach the final, they will win the President's cup.

League champions Al Ain will be looking to win a double by clinching the President's Cup, while Al Wasl will be looking to hand out an upset to league champions Al Ain.
