Dubai: Prasanth Manghat, CEO and executive director, NMC Health Plc, who won the Times Now NRI Award, said he felt the honour was a vindication of the values that he cherished and practised.

“The awards serve as a testimony of the same although may not necessarily be the sole manifestation as many of the nominees would have surely put together some great work in their respective fields and geographies,” Manghat said.

The NRI of the Year Awards acknowledge the spirit of global Indians who have made a mark for themselves worldwide.

Manghat received the award at a glittering ceremony held in Mumbai on July 11 in the presence of dignitaries, including Indian federal Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju.

He has been working in the UAE for about 14 years, starting his career with Neopharma as the chief financial officer (CFO). Then he moved to NMC Healthcare in 2012 as the CFO and then worked his way up.

He believes that the panel that selected him for the award would have fathomed the candidature via a prism of professional and personal accomplishments, and considered the contributions made to the communities and environment at large.

The professional in him has been acknowledged for the work done before as well. He was selected among Forbes Top 50 Indian Executives in the Arab World 2018; Indian Aces by Arabian Business, 2018; 50 most powerful Indians in Middle East by Arabian Business in 2017; and had won Deal Maker of the Year in 2016; Excellence in Finance Award by ICAI, 2012; CFO of the Year, 2012; and Garshom Business Excellence Award, 2017.
