Dubai: It is raining this afternoon in Fujairah, according to the National Centre of Meteorology. The centre posted the alert on their social media channels.
Several videos of the rain were also shared online with Instagram account storm_ae posting videos of residents enjoying the change in the weather.
Rain was also reported in the Saudi city of Damam today.
Several areas of the UAE are expected to witness drizzle and light rainfall this week as convective clouds formed across the country.
In a five-day weather forecast, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said that light rain will affect various parts of the UAE’s western and eastern region by Wednesday afternoon.
On Sunday night, Al Ain already witnessed scattered rainfall with more expected in the coming days.
Traffic officials in Abu Dhabi warned motorists to use their fog lights in the early morning and to exercise caution on the roads, due to poor road visibility. Motorists were also urged to keep a safe distance and drive at a reduced speed.
The lowest temperature on Monday was recorded at 3.45am at 16.4°C in Jebel Jais, the UAE's tallest peak, in Ras Al Khaimah, followed by Merbeh mountain at 19.1°C at 5.30am.

Over the next few days, the NCM said the weather until Friday will remain partly cloudy and hazy at times with maximum temperatures expected to reach 32°C to 37°C in coastal areas, 35°C to 40°C in internal areas and 26°C to 32°C in the mountain region.

The level of humidity across the country will be up to 80 per cent in coastal areas, 75 per cent in internal areas and 70 per cent in the mountain region.
The humidity levels will bring fog formation at night and into the early morning.

From Wednesday to Friday, southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow at a speed of 20 to 30 km/h, and may reach up to 40 km/h at times, with blowing dust and sand in exposed areas.

Scattered clouds will also form over scattered areas, which may be associated with rain.
The sea will be calm to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
