Way to reduce long queues at clinics

According to the Ministry of Health, medical fitness reports for residence visas and work permits are to be issued only by government medical centres from now on.

While there are obvious advantages to this decision, which will help organise the process, making it more centralised, and assist in preventing damage to public health, the fact remains that we need more government medical centres across the nation.

This is because as it is, government clinics are often overcrowded and there are always long lines of people awaiting their turn. That is, getting the medical tests done often takes longer than is needed due to high demand and few venues. In fact, one reader complained that he had to wait 20 hours to get his medical test done.

In order for this initiative to be carried out successfully, more certified clinics are needed and each clinic must be prepared to be able to take in even more people.
