Plain Palin can go sailing

And we thought we heard the last of Sarah Palin.

If only.

The vacuous Governor of Alaska has decided to step down from the position, presumably to make a bid for the White House in 2012.

Who can forget those moments of sheer banality - foreign policy based on being able to see Russia across the Bering Strait, not answering any question, avoid the press.

While she did provide John McCain with a brief boost, she certainly cannot be accused of bringing a high IQ to the presidential campaign.

But the manner in which she suddenly announced her resignation caught Republicans off guard. A little impetuous, perhaps?

While she may spend the next three years giving speeches, courting the donors, building a team, mounting a campaign, there is little to work with. Prepare for a lot of noise. Empty vessels make most.
