Dubai: Al Jafiliya Metro Station on the Red line is at a strategic location which will help serve thousands of people visiting the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD).

The station is located on Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road while going from Trade Centre Roundabout towards Karama, but it has an air-conditioned pedestrian bridge giving access to commuters right in front of the DNRD office.

Visitors will find it convenient to use Dubai Metro, once it starts operation on September 9, to reach the DNRD office as they will no longer have to go around to search for parking in the area.

It will take five minutes to walk to the Bur Dubai Police Station, which is also just across the road.

Next to it is the office of the Emirates Identity Authority and just down the road is the building of the Department of Medical Services.

Visitors to Zabeel Park - one of the largest public parks in Dubai - can also use Al Jafiliya Station.

The park, which was opened in 2005, covers an area of 51 hectares and it offers activities for people of all age groups.

There are play areas, a jogging track, a mini cricket ground, a soccer field, a lake and an amphitheatre in addition to a number of restaurants and coffee shops.

The new etisalat headquarters building is less than a five minutes walk from the station.

Bus stops are located on both sides of the station to provide easy access to communities around the station. The station will also serve residents of Al Jafiliya district which mostly comprises of big and small villas and traditional Arab houses.

Visitors to the consulates of Afghanistan, China and Qatar can also use this station.
