Dubai: Motorists across the country faced heavy traffic congestion on Sunday as residents made their way back to work after the three-day weekend.
In Abu Dhabi, an accident was reported on Airport Road that resulted in a blocked road lane and major traffic delays in the area.

Dubai Police rushed to smooth the traffic flow after accidents were reported on Al Khail Road and on Rebat Street, near Business Bay Bridge.

The accidents caused further delays to motorists who were already tackling the daily traffic grind into across the city of Dubai.
Heavy traffic also affected motorists driving towards the World Trade Centre roundabout and Burj Khalifa, as well as those on Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road driving in from Sharjah.
