Abu Dhabi: A large number of pet lovers and owners from around the country as well as the GCC region flocked to Du Arena on Yas Island in the capital on Friday to take part in the annual pet festival.
The Abu Dhabi Pet Festival (ADPF) aimed at raising awareness among pet breeders, owners and members of the public, and providing an intimate environment for the welfare of animals.
It offered an unparalleled marketing, distribution and media interaction opportunities to both exhibitors and pet-loving public.
The festival is an educational and entertaining animal fair designed to raise awareness about animal welfare and educate individuals about pet products, pet food, pet fashion, pet health, pet training and all pet services.
The festival was created to promote and provide an upscale and diverse selection of products and innovative buying opportunities. Touted as one of the biggest pet events in the UAE, ADPF is a free festival organised by PETME, a monthly magazine, and Showline FZE.
The event also held competitions for dogs, cats and pet owners with a number of presentations and demonstrations by experts and groups. Local pet groups, rehabilitative organisations, vendors, training schools, and veterinarians have been consulted in preparation for this show.
The participants included UAE Police Dog Squad K9 Unit, Emirates Kennel Club, pet product vendors, pet fashion and style outlets, animal welfare organisations, veterinary consultants, pet behaviourists and trainers, government animal welfare departments, and entertainment and food outlets. The event also had fun and games for children.
