Abu Dhabi: The UAE has submitted briefing notes to the President of the United Nations Security Council and President of the United Nations General Assembly, against Qatar.

The briefings’ submission is based on the provisions of the Charter of the United Nations, following Qatar's threat to the lives of civilians by intercepting two UAE planes that were on usual routes to Bahrain through internationally accredited airlines that are compliant with all necessary approvals and permits.

The UAE considered Qatar’s irresponsible and reckless behavior as an unjustifiable escalation that threatens the safety of civil flights, endangering international peace and security in the region, which goes against all applicable rules of the international law.

The UAE has also sent two similar memoranda to the Secretary General of the Arab League and Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council and requested the distribution of these memoranda to members of the League and the GCC as official documents for both organisations.
