Sultan visits Al Dhaid

Sharjah Ruler inspects vital service and educational projects in Al Dhaid

Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Sunday visited Al Dhaid where he inspected a number of heritage, tourist and educational projects.

The vital projects aim to develop the Central Region and better serve Emirati citizens and expatriate residents.

Dr Shaikh Sultan was warmly welcomed by people who expressed their happiness at the visit and the keenness of Dr Shaikh Sultan to develop the region through the implementation of several vital service projects

On the first leg of his tour, Dr Shaikh Sultan visited Al Dhaid Fort, one of the most important historical buildings in the Central Region. It is an old Islamic fort dating back to the second half the 18th Century.

He also inspected the progress of work on the first phase of Al Bardi Park. Dr Shaikh Sultan pointed out that the park will be a prominent ecotourism location on its completion by 2019.

Dr Shaikh Sultan visited other projects and instructed the construction of a Desert Botanical Garden, which will house various kinds of desert plants in the Central Region.
