Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has ordered the release of 304 prisoners of various nationalities on the occasion of Ramadan.
The pardoned prisoners were found to be eligible for pardon after they met the conditions of good conduct.
The order is in line with Dr Shaikh Sultan’s keenness to bring happiness and hope to inmates and their families, especially during the fasting month.
Major General Saif Al Zarri Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, extended his deepest thanks and appreciation to Dr Shaikh Sultan for his generous gesture that mirrors his keen interest in supporting family cohesion and reuniting all its members.
He expressed the hope that the gesture would be a motivation for the pardoned prisoners to draw lessons and return to mainstream society as good members who contribute to its stability and security.
