Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday received the team ofSayfuna Mumayaz’ programme at Al Bahr Palace.

The programme, supervised by the Abu Dhabi Education Council, aims to keep school pupils occupied during summer holidays and invest their leisure time in educational, cultural, sporting, artistic and heritage activities to enable Emirati youth to continue to learn, enjoy sport and have fun – all in a safe and stimulating environment.

Shaikh Mohammad was briefed by the team, accompanied by Mohammad Salem Al Daheri, Executive Director of School Sector at the council, on the most important projects and ideas of the programme.

He was familiarised with the most prominent activities that aim to instil a love of giving and volunteerism as well as to enhance national identity and ethical values in Emirati pupils in line with the Year of Giving 2017 declared by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Shaikh Mohammad lauded efforts exerted in summer to nurture and support the skills and talents of students, enhance their national loyalty and entrench in them the authentic cultural values to prepare them to serve their nation.

The program, which takes place July 2 - 20t, aims to invest in the energies and talents of students, while providing them with knowledge and skills in a fun learning environment, through different activities including volunteer work, which comes in accordance with the UAE’s Year of Giving.

The activities focus on six different areas, including arts, national values, innovation, educational programs, entertainment, and competitions.
