Abu Dhabi: The UAE Cabinet approved on Sunday a decision setting up the board of directors of the Federal Youth Authority under the chairwomanship of Shamma Bint Suhail Bin Faris Al Mazroui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs.
Members of the board will include government figures and members of youth councils of each emirates to support the authority’s vision of empowering and involving youth in different sectors of society, foster, and unleash their energies, abilities, creativity and ideas.
The move reflects the government keenness to help them bear the responsibility and contribute to the well-being of the UAE society.
The decision stipulates that the Authority’s board of directors shall include (as members) Shaikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, Major General Pilot Shaikh Ahmad Bin Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Service and Reserve Authority, Noora Mohammad Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Nasser Bin Thani Al Hameli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Hessa Bint Eisa Bu Humaid, Minister of Community Development, Jameela Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, Dr. Ahmad Abdullah Humaid Bel Houl Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills, and Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State, as well as members of youth councils of each emirate.
Following the appointment of Shamma Suhail Faris Al Mazroui as Minister of State for Youth Affairs, the Emirates Youth Council, was set up and seven local youth circles were also formed in each of the seven emirates to serve as a voice for young people in the UAE.
