Sharjah: A two-year-old Emirati girl drowned after falling into a plastic swimming pool at her relative’s home in Al Dhaid, an official said on Wednesday.
The girl fell in the plastic pool placed outside the house.
The incident was reported to Al Dhaid police who investigated the scene on Sunday. Police said what happened “was consistent with an accidental death”.
The toddler was taken by family members to the hospital emergency section and CPR was performed for more than 30 minutes but the child couldn’t be revived.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said that the investigation has found no evidence of foul play.
The child’s body is being handed over to the family for burial.
Al Dhaid police urged parents to keep a close watch on their children around open water sources at all times.
