Sharjah: Two Arab men suffered serious burns after their car caught fire in Al Majaz area of Sharjah on Tuesday morning.

According to the Sharjah Police, a 24-year-old Iraqi identified as M. M. S and an 18-year-old Syrian identified as M.R. were sitting in their car parked in front of a coffee shop in Al Majaz area when the vehicle caught fire, causing them first and second degree burns.

Sharjah Police and Civil Defence were alerted about the incident at 11am. Rescue teams arrived on the scene and doused the fire by 11.23am. The injured men were rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital, where they were admitted in the intensive care unit.

The fire destroyed two cars. Police said they have launched an investigation as they suspect foul play behind the incident.
