Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that which ever party accepts the progressive agenda of governance was welcome to join the Front proposed by him.
Chandrasekhar Rao who flew to Bengaluru this morning met the former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Deve Gowda to discuss the proposed. Addressing the media after the meeting along with Deve Gowda KCR said that the proposed Front was not for silly politics or “a drama of two-three leaders” but it would be people’s front and farmers’ front.
In a clear indication that he was not happy with the response he got from the regional and smaller parties so far, KCR said, “now these parties are under the trap of either Congress or the BJP. As Deve Gowdaji appealed to one and all, please come out of the trap. Let us save the country, let us save Bharat Mata let us save our farmers, poor men, women who are looking for justice”, KCR said.
“The Front which we are contemplating will be the peoples front of India, common man’s front. Whoever wants to fall in line we will go forward with them”, he added.
He said except fir six years or so, for 65 years the country was ruled either by the Congress or the BJP and both had miserably failed to deliver. He said that the fight between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for Cauvery river water was one example of this failure. “why it should be kept pending for seventy years. Does it make any sense’, he asked.
Lashing out at the Centre he said that the states were fighting for water, people were fighting in the streets and Delhi was enjoying. “There is neither water for drinking nor for agriculture and there are water wars in the country. Who created the water wars”, he asked.
“We are fighting among ourselves. There are bandhs. Prime Minister was greeted with black flags in Tamil Nadu. It was because of the inaction and inability of these two parties. It is not that BJP has not got the opportunity. Earlier Congress was ruling on its own and now for the first time after the BJP formed its own government, people had given it an opportunity. Still there was no delivery”, he lamented, explaining why he felt the need for a Front of non-Congress and non-BJP parties.
“The proposed Front will be an alignment of the masses and farmers of India. We will prepare a big agenda for farmers”, he said.
Interestingly KCR appealed to the Telugu speaking people of Karnataka to support Janata Dal (Secular) in the coming assembly elections. He said if asked by Deve Gowda or his son H.D. Kumaraswamy he was ready to campaign for the JDS in Hyderabad-Karnataka region or anywhere else.
KCR who flew in a special aircraft from Hyderabad was accompanied by his party MPs Vinod Kumar, J Santosh Kumar, legislator V Prashant Reddy and film star Prakash Raj among others.
