Yolanda Be Cool in Dubai

Dubai: It’s the hottest time of the year, but come July 28 should be a breath of fresh air for the UAE’s music lovers with a concert by breakout dance music duo Yolanda Be Cool.

The Australian pair -- Sylvester Martinez and Johnson Peterson -- will perform at the XL Beach club at Dubai’s Habtoor Grand Hotel. They last performed in the emirate last November.

The duo rose to fame in the summer of 2010 after their self-released single, the impossibly catchy “Speak No Americano” climbed the charts in dozens of countries and received endless radio airplay in the UAE. Martinez and Peterson collaborated with DJ DCUP on the track, which samples a 1950s Italian song, and released it on their own label, Sweat It Out.

That’s something that Dubai fans won’t have to do when the watch the act’s three-hour set (as promised by the event organiser, Infusion), as the venue is a large air-conditioned tent with swimming pool, located on the beach of the hotel.
