Unwanted e-life packages added to my bill

Reader issue of Etisalat billing him for additional e-life packages resolved

I received a call from etisalat sales person on November 30, 2012, regarding the addition of Zee TV at Dh39 per month to our existing e-life basic package. As I was busy, I asked him to contact me later. However, I couldn’t attend to his calls. A week later, I received a call from another salesperson regarding the addition of Discovery Family (Dh55 per month) to which I agreed.

To my surprise, he revealed that Zee TV has been added to my plan. I couldn’t believe that the first sales person took the liberty to add this package without my consent.

I asked the second salesman to immediately cancel this package and he assured me that prompt action will be taken, which he seemed to forget. Two days later, I made another call to customer service and filed a complaint when I realised that the package has not been removed. This time also I was assured of strict action against this deceit. However, several calls later the package was finally disconnected, but I was billed extra charges. These charges included the Zee TV package and charges for a modem despite the fact that I had to buy a modem from a department store as it was not in stock with the company and that is another issue for which I have been still following up but to no avail.

I would look forward to your reply and finally a resolution to these issues including reversal of all extra charges. I am deeply disappointed by the kind of service offered to me.

I would like to inform you that both my problems have been resolved finally. They have deducted the amount for the additional package as well as the modem form my bill. I would like to thank Gulf News for the interest the newspaper has showed in getting this issue resolved.

Kindly be informed that Mr. Kamal Krishnan’s issue has been resolved and he now enjoys watching e-life channel package with full services.
