Damaged fences pose danger
We witnessed a shocking scene while we were walking along Abu Dhabi Corniche. The fencing of the area toward the breakwaters appears to be damaged.
Even though the authorities had placed some light obstructions, such as a plastic fence, these barricades have been damaged, too. The temporary safety measures are unsuitable for the area and are insufficient, when one compares it to the danger that could be posed to passersby.
This applies especially to the lives of children who come to the Corniche to relax or play during the evening or weekends.
Considering the situation, the authorities should take the necessary measures and create strong protective barriers with wooden panelling or iron meshes to prohibit the entry of people in such areas.
People who come to the Corniche to relax should not find their lives in danger.
