The Sharjah beach area, Al Fisht, to see a number of family-friendly projects
The Sharjah beach area, Al Fisht, will see a number of family-friendly projects that will turn it into one of Sharjah's most beautiful and active residential neighbourhoods.
Speaking at the opening of a new business venture supported by the Sharjah Business Women's Council (SBWC), Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs and Honorary Patron of the SBWC, said the Al Fisht area will undergo restorations that will include the creation of jogging and walking tracks. She added that the SBWC will help women open businesses there that are in line with the UAE's traditions.
"Al Fisht area was a very quiet area and had no commercial activity or shops, so we [SBWC] decided to bring it to life with projects for the family and projects that fit our conservative society."
Shaikha Jawaher said that the council does its best to support women and young female entrepreneurs establish small and medium businesses, helping push paperwork and providing key information. "We are with them and provide them with all they need, including advertising and media services," Shaikha Jawaher said, noting that all the beneficiaries need to come up with is a good feasibility study and funds for the project as the SBWC does not provide financial support.
The SBWC assists students, alumni, businesswomen and professionals alike whether they are Emiratis or expatriates.
Ameera Bin Karam, Chairperson of the Sharjah Business Women's Council, said, "We are a think-tank for any woman."
