Dining at Zest at One&Only The Palm in Dubai, overlooking the pool and the Moorish-inspired gardens, is an experience you won’t soon forget. With a mix of à la carte dishes served to the table and a buffet, Zest’s specially curated brunch menu by Michelin chef Yannick Alléno features decadent treats from across the world – you can't go wrong with a single item on the menu.
A unique cocoa-infused bean soup, which goes well with freshly baked baguette, a range of antipasti and garden-fresh salads start things off on a perfect note. The cold seafood salad specially steals my heart with its mildly-flavoured shrimps, chunks of crab meat and squid lightly sautéed with garden-fresh vegetables and herbs.
For mains, we pick a well-done beef rib-eye with mushroom sauce, grilled sea bass and a plate of tiger prawns from the à la carte menu. The beef is moist, while the fillet of fish and prawns are perfectly seasoned. Portions for the mains are just right, leaving enough room for us to try other mains options from the international buffet.
The veg biryani is flavourful, shish tawook is succulent and lamb koftas are delicately spiced. The salmon salted crust is another highlight on the menu.
After a brief hiatus, we head straight to its desert section. For dessert, the chocolate mandarin cake and mango and caramel square are decadent and truly artistic — a fine way to cap off a great meal.
We loved the warm hospitality, intimate dining experience and of course its tailored menu.
We hated We couldn’t really do justice to the dessert selection after overindulging in the mains.
