Show her the proof

Sharon Cuneta, Rizza Santos and more: the best gossip from the Philippines

Last updated:

Early last week, the megastar Sharon Cuneta dared the public to prove that her senator-husband is having an affair.

She offered a reward close to Dh800,000 reward to anyone who will be able to give her a picture of the woman and an address or where she lives. So far, nobody has come out with any information.

But what people are questioning now, according to some wags, is if the actress — once the wealthiest in the industry — will be able to cough up the money. Lately, Cuneta is said to be in financial trouble owing to bungled investments.

This is hard to believe, but the rumour about her husband having an extra-marital affair is just getting stronger and stronger by the day.

Brazilian Brouhaha

Brazilian models and actors have been flocking to the country as if the Rio Carnival has suddenly been transported to Manila. They're seen not just on the runways, but in every Pinoy home via the television.

So, it was only a matter of time, before intrigues set in. Heard there's now a wedge between Brazilian beauties Daiana Menezes and Ariana.

Both work for a show called Ogags on TV5, but Menezes resigned allegedly because she's fed up with her prima donna co-host. But the Brazilian bombshell, said to be the more popular because of her exposure on the top-rating noontime show Eat Bulaga, denied the rumour, saying, "Ariana is a friend. There is no fight between us. My manager and I just made a career move because I have to concentrate on my other shows."

Clash of the titans

The Filipino community will have a fantastic year-end celebration on December 5, dubbed Bayanihan Festival 2008, top billed by the teen stars Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras. The whole day affair features a motorcade, bargain bazaars and a job fair, amongst other exciting activities.

The event is free, but guests will have to pay the Dh5 fee on entry at Zabeel Park. The event starts at 8am.

Happening on the same day, is a concert in Dubai Festival City featuring Pinoy bands The Dawn, Bamboo, Kamikaze and Pupil. Tickets cost Dh75.

Filcom leader Art Los Banos said that the two events do not clash.

According to Los Banos, Bayanihan is more of a family event, while the Rakrakan concert will be more for rock-pop music lovers. "Everybody will be entertained on December 5. However, those who want to watch a free show can go to Zabeel Park," he added.

Santos missing in action

The beauty queen-turned-model and actress Rizza Santos could be in hot water if she doesn't show up anytime soon. Santos is missing in action and her manager is worried she could end up in court for failure to honour her contracts for commercial endorsements.

One of the owners of the clothing brand she is supposed to endorse has let it slip that they will most likely resort to legal action if Santos didn't honour her commitments.

Compounding her manager's dilemma is Santos's whereabout.

Last we heard, Santos had to go home to Canada for a family emergency, But rumour has it that she's several months pregnant and in the country. We tried to track her down with the help of our moles, but even our showbiz insiders can't find the former beauty queen.

Is she pregnant or in trouble?
