Wednesday is a problem night for most clubs in Dubai with very little on offer and small crowds at most events. Ex-KLF rapper Ricardo Da Force will be hoping his mix of funk, house, hip-hop and indie will draw in the punters.

DJ NYK @ Chaos
Apparently DJ NYK has "mixed over 200 tracks so far". Well done. If you are fan of Bollywood soundtracks and parodies of progressive house, check this out, if you are a fan of decent music, avoid.
Cosmic Gate @ Chi @ The Lodge
The Lodge brings yet another trance act over in the form of this German duo. One of their most successful tracks was a trance remix of Somewhere Over The Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz, which says it all. Music for teenagers.
DJ Fresh @ The Apartment
The South African spinner will be bringing his house sounds to The Apartment in what should be a good night. Don't expect anything too fancy, but for house fans this is the place to be tonight. Support from Kennedy and Beirut's DJ Jade.
Hed Kandi @ Trilogy
Trilogy decide to bring in 'Dad House' specialists, Hed Kandi for the umpteenth time. Sure to be full of beautiful people who have no interest whatsoever in house music. Luckily Hed Kandi are playing so they don't have to.

DJ Lady Red Label @ Terrace Bar, Deira
Everything from deep house to funk will be dropped at this always excellent Friday chill out venue. If the thought of a brunch is too much to handle, then head to this - a lazy afternoon is guaranteed.
Danny Neville @ Zinc
A full on soundtrack of hip-hop and R'n'B is sure to keep the cabin crew happy on Friday. If you are stuck for somewhere to go and want somewhere with some 'action', this is probably your best bet.

Freddi Cruger & Linn - The Wonderlust EP (Swedish Brandy)
Beautiful soul drenched R'n'B from Sweden with the Brandy imprint coming good yet again. Freddie Cruger has been on a bit of a roll recently so if you are fan of quality downtempo, check him out.
NSM - The Hype EP (Jazzy Sport)
We don't feature hip-hop on these pages too much, but we couldn't ignore this slice of horizontal funk. Infectious lyrics slide in and out of a funky bassline that was made for a big sound system. More quality from Jazzy Sport.
Sonny J - Can't Stop Movin' (White Label)
Almost impossible to track down but well worth the effort. A prime time slab of funk that will send any floor wild. Sounds like Mr Scruff let loose in a studio with the Jackson 5. Great stuff.
