Thursday
Bora Bora @ Chi@The Lodge
Bora Bora resident DJ Gee will be bringing his bag of Balearic grooves to The Lodge tomorrow for what should be a good night
if he sticks to the sounds that go down so well in the Ibiza beach bar and doesn't try to go all commercial on us.
Phat Phil Cooper @The Apartment
Larger than life UK party jock Cooper knows his house music, so fans of funky, soulful house are in for a treat tomorrow
night. Cooper is one of the most popular DJs on the circuit so this should be a good one.
Hed Kandi @ Trilogy
Wow. Hed Kandi. Again. Creative genius from the Trilogy promoters who decide to bring over the dad-house imprint for the umpteenth time. Bland house that will appeal to the IKEA-buying, Phil Collins loving drones of the world.
Friday
Sweet and Sour @ Chaos
Baile Funk, crunk, electro, disco, old school jungle and poptronica are just some of the genre-bending sounds you can expect to heat things up at Preroll's new night at Chaos. In a city of sheep, it's refreshing to see a night that goes against the grain. Check it!
DJ Swerve @ The Apartment
Urban Education is one of the most popular nights in Dubai with - despite the middle-of-the-road R&B and hip hop they usually serve up – the place being packed every weekend. Friday sees UK jock, DJ Swerve, dropping the hands-in-the-air anthems.
Fusion Up-Beat @ Icon Bar
Despite the pompous Mac-wielding media types that populate the Radisson in Media City, the hotel does host some good nights. Fusion Up-Beat is no exception with Bhangra, Afro and Brazilian music all vying for air time in one of the most eclectic nights in town.
Stereo
Calvin Harris: Acceptable In The 80s (Sony)
While lazy hacks are dubbing Harris the new Mylo, the truth is, the man has a sound all of his own. Eighties style synths and a cracking bassline run under some falsetto vocals. Tom Neville and the Glimmers do the remix duty with top notch results.
Herbie Hancock: Saturday Night (Gamm)
Gamm comes up trumps once again with a double header of remixed classics. Beatconductor turns Hancock's cut into a primetime funky disco monster while the flip sees some Latin magic. Another rocking Gamm release.
