What sets Bloomingdale's Dubai apart from other Bloomingdale's and other stores in the UAE?

Bloomingdale's' unique selling point in the US is their home stores, and we have been able to import that- we have opened the most beautiful and comprehensive home store in the region. We brought in Magnolia bakery. But we also have Arabic elements, where we sell Arabic furniture and home accessories. And of course there's New York New York- branded Bloomingdale's items and items from the Museum of Modern Art.

What's different in the fashion department?

Bloomingdale's is a store with contemporary focus. We did a lot of work in order to carry a lot of well-known brands from the US and Europe. This does not mean we don't carry exclusive evening brands and high end- for example, we're introducing Jenny Packham bridal and John Richmond.

What's your don't-miss tip?

I've been working hard on the two stores for two years and every part is important to me. But I think we are going to have a very interesting and unusual kids department- we're going to have the Nintendo Wii for the kids, and coin-operated rides. It's something for the kids while mum is shopping.

And your personal favourite spot in the store?

I'm in love with the home store already. I'm so passionate about this part of the business. There's a lot of stuff not seen before in Dubai. Just the mix of the product categories, all the home categories under one roof and all the price points from ultra luxury to accessible.

What do you think will be people's reaction to the store?

It is going to be a very unique store, never seen before. Sometimes when you talk too much about something, you raise people's expectations, and when they see it they get disappointed. But there are not going to be mixed opinions about this store. People are just going to go, "Wow!"
