New album by Platinum
Latifa became the latest artist to leave production company Rotana after a long-term relationship with the company. The Tunisian singer joined Platinum Records and signed a three-year contract at the MBC headquarters in Dubai. Latifa described the company as a music giant that belongs to the biggest media group in the Middle East and the Arab world. She also expressed happiness that her new album titled Atahadda will be launched by Platinum. The album contains 14 songs, all sung in the Khaliji accent.

Madline Matar has been receiving great offers following her announcement that she’ll play the role of belly dancer “Shadiya” in the next TV series or movie. The artist who has in her career only played one important role in the Egyptian movie Akher Khalam (Last Word), believes she has a lot in common with the dancer, including her appearance and the way she talks. In the film Akher Khalam Madline played Amirah, a young lady living with an over-protective father who prevents her from pursuing her dreams. In this movie Madline starred alongside Hasan Hosny and Mina Arafah. Will Madline’s new role as Shadiya mark a new beginning and an important step in her career?

Lebanese singer Waël Kfoury and chairman of Rotana Production Salem Al Hendi made up last week at Elissa’s birthday party, which was held at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut. The birthday girl managed to bring them together, something that other celebrities and friends failed to do. It’s still unknown whether the reconciliation means that Kfoury will rejoin Rotana after leaving the production company over a year ago. Who knows...
