Dubai residents have been told not to worry about what looks like fires in the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
The flames are part of operational testing being carried out in the area by the Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP).
Dubai Media Office reported on Twitter that gas flaring is part of the testing operation.
“Please be informed that Dubai supply authority (DUSUP) is planning to carry out operational testing at Jebel Ali Industrial Area 1 and it will include the normal practice of flaring of hydrocarbon gas,” the Media Office Twitter account said.
“The flaring will look like a fire and will be visible to residents of the neighbouring areas. These tests will be carried out for approximately two weeks starting from tonight. Please do not be alarmed.”
