Whitney Houston tops charts
Following the announcement of her death on Saturday, Whitney Houston's songs and albums began their steady climb up the charts on iTunes, the world's largest online music store.
By the time of going to press, Houston's version of I Will Always Love You was No 3 on the Top Songs charts, right behind Kelly Clarkson's Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) and American indie pop group Fun's We Are Young featuring Janelle Monae.
Three of Houston's previous albums also climbed up the charts, with her compilation album Whitney Houston: Greatest Hits, released in 2000, landing on the No 1 spot. Her self-titled debut album was on No 6 while the soundtrack to the 1992 film The Bodyguard, in which she also starred, was at No 7.
It's estimated that during her life, Houston sold between 170 and 200 million albums and singles worldwide.
