The ultimate mix-up comes to stage in Misal Pao

What: Sometimes one faces situations where one has to take it or leave it. Manu, the lead character in the Hindi play Misal Pao, has been dealt bad cards by destiny. However he has no choice but to take it.

Chances are that the music track he has to complete by the end of the day will not materialise. Chances are that he will never be able to pay rent to his landlord. As he struggles to overcome the obstacles, his ex-wife enters and hell breaks loose. A medley of spicy situations gives way to a very spicy comedic performance. Misal Pao is presented by Signature Events and is directed by Suresh Rajda, produced by Ashvin Givani Productions and starring Nitesh Pandey, Sudha Chandran, Pooja, Dinyar Tirandaz, Dinkar and Hridaynath.

When: March 14, 9pm

Where: Shaikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School, Dubai

How Dh75, Dh150, Dh250 and Dh350. Call 04 337 3724 or mail signature.event@gmail.com.

What: When Australian mum of two Emma Scorpo launched Baby Loves Disco, an afternoon dance party for kids (aged six months to seven years) in the UAE last year. It turned out to be a big hit. The fun event is back, but under a new name Baby Loves Carnivale. Presented by Mamas and Papas, the designer Nursery Store, the party will be held at Wafi Rooftop Gardens on March 21. The venue has abundant space for loads of activities for all the family and a dance floor big enough for the most adventurous disco moves.

Included in the ticket price are lunch and drinks for the children, lots of snacks for the mums and dads. There's a lounge for kids under one and a chillout zone for children under two. DJ Chris Fisher will be spinning tunes from the '70s, '80s and '90s. Also planned are dance classes, a crawling competition, story telling and nursery rhymes and face painting. Known as Baby Loves Disco in the rest of the world, this is a cult hit in the US. The event has attracted the likes of Angelina Jolie and her family, and the DJ for the New York branch is Madonna's DJ on tour!

Scorpo took it upon herself to bring the dance party to the UAE after a family trip to London in 2008 where she got swept up in Baby Loves Carnivale UK. She thought it was the perfect family event for Dubai's outgoing expat community. Her hunch was right: the UAE launch party was sold out a month before it was staged. Kyla Skues, an event specialist from Melbourne, has recently joined the team to help the crew keep up with the overwhelming popularity.
