Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West have reportedly decided to call their new-born daughter Kaidence Donda West.

The couple welcomed their first child on June 15. The news is said to be leaked out by a nurse, who works at Cedars Sinai hospital where Kardashian gave birth to the child five weeks early, reports thesun.co.uk. Another name that was reportedly up for discussion by the couple was “North”. We imagine little Kaidence will be ever thankful they chose otherwise.

The baby’s middle name is tribute to Kanye’s late mother Donda, who died in 2007 following complications from cosmetic surgery.

Media reports in the US also said the baby girl, delivered in a natural birth, weighed less than than 5lb.

The only comment so far from Kardashian was an email to E! presenter Ryan Seacrest, who is also an executive producer of her show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. He read the message on his radio show, with Kardashian saying “Cant believe it! It’s so crazy!”.

Kardashian has reportedly had a number of visitors since delivering the baby, including her friend Larsa Pippen, who told E! News at the premiere of Monsters University on Monday night that the new mum is “feeling really good and excited.” Pippen said West “is, like, in love with the baby,” who is “so freaking cute.”

West and his girlfriend are staying at a $4,030-per-day (Dh14,798) corner suite at Cedars Sinai, where the birth was also filmed.

Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner filmed the birth of their first child with a home video camera, but only for family viewing.

West refused to allow cameras for her series Keeping Up with the Kardashians to record any footage in the hospital about the arrival of their baby girl.

A source said: “Kim was extremely upset because she wasn’t due for another month. She was in pain and didn’t know what was happening. The camera crew from Keeping Up with the Kardashians had been with her all week.”

“Kim was taken to Cedars, and cameras followed her there. The camera crew did attempt to accompany Kim into the hospital. When Kanye arrived, he told them to get lost, which they did. Kanye didn’t want this precious moment to be documented for TV.”

“Kim’s manager, Kris, who was in the delivery room, filmed portions of it for family viewing only. Kanye told Kris when she could film,” the source added.

However, Kim’s older sister Kourtney, 34, had allowed footage of both of her children - Mason, three, and Penelope, 11 months - being born, captured on home video cameras, to be used for reality TV specials.

Meanwhile, Kourtney has reportedly asked the new mother to be more careful with her lifestyle.

Kourtney, mother of son Mason, 2, and 11-month-old daughter Penelope, says that Kardashian’s life is not going to be the same now.

“Kourtney has told Kim that she has no idea what she’s in for as a mum,” radaronline.com quoted a source as saying.

“Kim thinks that she is just going to live her life exactly the way she did before now just with a little baby along with her.

“But Kourtney has told her that her life is going to completely change and she’s going to be totally surprised at everything,” the source added.
